Hello to you!

Sunny, cool day today. Hubby and I put up a Christmas tree and decorated it last nite.

................

Today's Weight: 144.8 (lowest since 2002)
Highest Weight: 205.0 (in 1998)
BMI: 22.0
When I got on the scale this morning and saw new low, I realized I really can reach 140.0 goal weight (again). Thing is, not giving in to overeating food for comfort or for recreation or for any other reason. It has taken work and time but mostly simply not giving in to overindulgence to reach the current number. I have sweets (my fav) in the house but they are put away for a proper time to enjoy them in calories allotment. So they are not in plain view. No, I don't think I have 'arrived' re: temptation, but I have a different outlook now certainly. There are other things to do than overeat....ex: reaching out and helping others in need, letting them know someone cares and showing it as well. It has been a big fight this year to get rid of over 20 lbs so far. I remember when I was at goalweight in 2002 and what did I do??? I let it slip slowly away. Granted, I was under extreme stress at the time and allowed myself to regain a lot of weight I'd struggled in losing prior to that. I didn't realize the gift of the size and weight I was at that time, but I have a renewed appreciation today of where I am now, with all the struggle to get back here and I do not plan to turn it loose as I proceed on to 140.0 goalweight, nor after attaining goalweight. It is fun to put on size 8 100% cotton levis jeans and have very comfy, even room-to-spare fit instead of trying on a pair, and lack 4 inches of
the zipper meeting to zip! So I now wear size 8 and am happy I do. My eating habits have really changed this year. I not only count calories, I am using 'food-combining' as well. I try to balance high carbs with low carbs to keep glycemic index number from getting too high. I don't always do this, but I do this most of the time. Also, I walk a lot. Physical activity aids fatloss. 2 people can weigh the same, be the same height and have lots of other similarities, but the one who doesn't move much may be larger than the one who does. So physical activity as well as calories counting in staying within the limit of what works for you is important in getting to goalweight and becoming a certain size.

Merry Christmas!
Love, Maria
