Hello to you! Just got back home a little while ago. Hubby and I have been gone since this morning (he is off work today). While out we got a few things Mom sent for and took them to her at the nursing home. She is doing real well, thank the Lord. We also looked at some used vehicles for sale. We ate lunch at Golden Corral. I did real well with not overdoing it but nitetime is when I am usually tempted to overeat.

Mom Comes Home With Us For A While

Hello to you! Our first orange daylily is in bloom...so pretty! It has been a very busy day here. First, this morning, Hubby and I went for a long walk in our neighborhood and visited a neighbor-friend. Then a little later, Hubby and I left out to go get Mom and bring her over here to the house for a while...she'd been wanting to come. I fixed her a chicken salad s/w, some watermelon, and a pineapple smoothie (which she drank all of...but had 2 teaspoons of sugar added to hers)...She called and talked to some of her friends on the phone while here. We had to take her back after she was with us a couple of hours, so she could do her afternoon therapy (she'd already done her morning physical therapy)...Hubby and I are back home now, resting a little while before mid-week church service tonite.

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Hello to you! It has been a rainy day today. Hubby is home and we've been getting caught up on a few things that have needed doing around the house and outside. I went through a lot of Mom's things that we brought home from the first nursing home she was in and also from the hospital...had to decide what to store and what to throw out...threw out stuff mostly like partly-used personal stuff she'd had in the hospitals. Got a call today from Mom's wound-care nurse that one of Mom's feet (not the one that was the worst) is completely well! Thank You, Jesus! And thank you, Christians, for your prayers!

Food today:
Breaky: Coffee w sugar and creamer 25, piece of cake Daughter baked for me 300 (325)

Hello to you. Hubby and I just got back a little while ago from going to church today, then eating lunch at Golden Corral Restaurant Buffet, then visiting Mom (who is doing well, had her hair permed yesterday but since it was too curly, she wanted it rolled again, so I rolled it for her...She had on her new beige palm tree jogging suit I bought her for part of her Mother's Day gifts and I took her photo....and Hubby, she, another resident, and I sat outside in the shade on the front porch for a good while and sung gospel songs, excluding Hubby who preferrs to just listen) at the nursing home and also Hubby and I visited Hubby's Uncle, who resides there as well (and seems to be doing well, too).

I just a few minutes ago had some of the homebaked cake Daughter made for me for part of my Mother's Day gift (btw, Happy Mother's Day to all the ladies!...Mother or not, you are still wished a happy Mother's Day!) and it is DELICIOUS!!!

Third Post

Hello to you! It is a pretty, sunny, warm (90 degrees fahrenheit) day here in South Carolina. This morning, Hubby and I went to a large farmers market and bought fresh tomatoes, yellow squashes, zuchinis, cucumbers...and also we purchased some red mulch for the flower garden.

After we left the market, Hubby drove us to a store in the next town over and surprised me with something I've wanted for a very long time....a SNOW CONE machine!!! He got it for me for my Mothers' Day gift. So SWEET of him! Then, we went to Golden Corral Buffet Restaurant and ate lunch together. I had about 550 calories, which is a large lunch but I used to have twice that much, and most of what I ate there today was veggies and no desert.

....................................................................
Evening update: After Hubby and I visited friends, and met her Mom and Sister who were down, we came back home and I left a little later and visited Mom at the nursing home, who is doing well and I assured her the beautician was still coming to put a permanent in her hair...something Mom has been wanting done...at the home. I gave Mom a large package of fresh strawberries and she and I had a couple of them together while I was visiting before I left to come back home. A little while after I got home, Daughter came over and brought me a Mother's Day CAKE she baked for me! (I didn't even know she could bake a cake!) It was decorated beautifully, with Happy Mother's Day, Mom written on top of the white icing in red on it and also I love you and her name under that. SWEET! She also gave me a beautiful, cute Mother's Day card and 3 more gifts in a pretty gift bag...a coffee mug with a rooster on it, a rooster wall plaque, and a little flowery garden wall plaque, too. She stayed and visited a while.
.......
Tonite has been partly spent taking up a top I bought yesterday at the thrift store and also changing a pair of jeans I bought there into capris jeans...what some might call 'pedal-pushers', hehehe.

PRAYER OF SALVATION
Lord Jesus, I confess that I have sinned against You in the way I have lived my life. I am truly sorry and I want to turn from my selfish ways and follow You. I hand my life over to You, knowing that You have paid the price for my sin by shedding Your Blood and dying on the cross for me. Lord I ask You to forgive me for all my sins and take control of every area of my life. I receive my salvation now according to Your promise: "All who call on the name of the Lord, will be saved." Thank you Jesus.

.............................................................................

Hope you're having a blessed day in the Lord! Don't forget to go to a Bible-believing church and worship tomorrow, that teaches about God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Love, Maria

First Post

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Hello to you!
Align Left

Turned out to be a beautiful day today after a morning beginning with a loud thunderstorm that ROARED through before Hubby left for work.

I went and got Mom this morning and took her out to an early Mothers' Day lunch at Cracker Barrel in lieu of taking her out on Sunday when the restaurants are usually overcrowded on Mothers Day...she chose the special of the day, as did I...turkey and dressing...yum. We had a window seat. After we finished eating, she wanted to go shopping, so shopping we went! I bought her a gorgeous palm trees (with rhinestones on the top) beige pants outfit and she bought herself another beige pantsuit with with stripes and embroidered flowers on it. We had a nice time together.

After taking Mom back to the nursing home, I went to the grocery store before coming back home and since there were people cooking outside, who were cooking different meats on a grill, I bought Hubby's and my supper...grilled, barbequed chicken...also went inside the store and bought cabbage slaw and came home and made slaw (actually just added a little lowfat mayo and stirred)to go with the chicken for our suppers. It was good and the chicken was cooked so tender and seasoned 'just right'.
